The annual event of Swiss Days in Santa Clara is this weekend. It starts today, Friday September 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm til 10:00 pm. Saturday's hours are 7:00 am til 4:00 pm. Admission is free. This is one hometown event that you don't want to miss. It's full of history, fun and activities. First started in 1990, Swiss Das is a tribute to the town's pioneer heritage. Swiss members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints first settled the area in 1861.
Some of the events include a 5K walk/run and a pancake breakfast. The annual Swiss Days parade begins at 9:30 am and travels down Santa Clara Drive. There'll be the Red Rock Car Show at Canyon View park, dog agility demonstrations, food booths, pioneer craft demonstrations, continuous entertainment and heritage displays to name a few of the attractions.
