Virginia:  I am totally sure that you were so totally gorgeous and captivating that they never even noticed those silly price tags.  So, which office did you pick, and how well did it go.  Was it what you thought it would be ?

Virginia- Ah, yes, I have done things like that before. You will never forget that day:) But I agree with Karen, so stunning no one noticed the price tag. 

I'm sure your personality shone through despite the price tags - they probably thought you were 'playing - the Sales' thing up...:-)

Karen - I didn't stay at the one I picked very long, I made a bad choice for me.  But I found a really great one later who put me in the right direction.  I have loved real estate ever since.

Bill - I laughed later, but I was mortified at the time!

Oh Virigina, you are so Minnie Pearl. I loved that story with your "perfect" outfit. Sometimes we ought to just be ourselves, don't you think? The red tag sale sticker was the cherry on top of the sundae for me. It's fun to laugh now isn't it?

Virginia, I LOVED your story.  I did that once, although not for an interview.  It was back in the 70's when wearing wigs was popular.  I was a bank teller at the time.  One particular day while wearing one of my wigs I felt so beautiful and so witty.  I was "little miss so sure of myself" that day.  I had waited on several people when one of my regulars walked up to the window and told me the price tag was sticking out the bottom of the wig.  I wanted to die!

Katerina - I asked one broker about it later - she didn't notice. (she said)

Liz - Perhaps they thought I was very "sales" oriented! 

Gary - It is one of my favorite real estate stories!  It was a BIG red tag - Close-out.

Christine - You and me and Minnie!  Didn't you just want to hide somewhere? 

That is hilarious!  I remember my 11 year old son wearing a new pair of jeans to school on a day I was volunteering in his class.  I looked down to see the strip of tape that sometimes sticks to the leg of jeans which show the size repeatedly.  I suavely reached down and stripped it off of him before he or anyone else noticed.  I should've gotten a medal, but being an observant and responsive mom is just part of the gig I guess...  Anyway, funny story!!

Anonymous - He was lucky you were there.  That stuff is so embarrassing, kids are mean - why is that?

Virginia, that is so funny.  Reminds me of a time my wife went out with the girls one night with tags hanging from a new blouse she bought. I was tempted to let her go, but stopped her at the door.  LOL.

Steve - Those "dress up clothes" are long gone.  Here, in Mesquite NV, we show homes in very casual clothes, most of the RE agents even wear shorts in the summer - it is HOT here.

Becky - I think I would have been hired if I were wearing my jammies - it was a pretty strong market and everybody needed more agents.

Bob - You would never have heard the end of it if you hadn't stopped her!

Dave - It is really picking up here - we are getting buyers from all over the U.S. and Canada - still not as good as your market.

JL - Yes, it could have been worse.  It is not the first time I have embarrassed myself in public! At least I wasn't wearing a toga.  :)

I can't tell you how many times I've done this. lol Everytime I do it I'm afraid that people think I'm "buying and returning" lol.

Hi Virginia... Too funny! I believe that it's the embarrassing moments in our lives that give us character (or at least the funny stories we get to share!). LOL

My graphic word is "grumixameira"...what the heck is that?!

Lindsay - I never thought of that!  I wonder if anyone thought I was doing that?

Bo - I must have a lot of character - I embarrass myself on a regular basis.  That graphic word, 'grumixameira', is Latin for 'the glue that holds a transaction together".  It applies to a good RE agent.

I just noticed: we both area wearing red suits in our pictures. The difference is I am not wearing a tag on mine

 

When you have a open house wear your price tag and add a HUGE RED TAG on the garage door and say "RED TAG SALE ON THIS HOME JUST FOR TODAY ONLY"

 

Windy - Hey, sis, OK - rub it in!  I will mail you a nice red sale tag so you can be just like me.

Great idea with the Red Tag Sale at an open house!  Have you done that? 

 

  VIRGINIA: I have not done the red tag sale yet. I was emailed the idea from 1 of my clients while I was trying to sell her house. I will give it a try when the market doesn't have quite so many REO'S. Let me know if you are going to ok?

Windy - I think it would be really effective.  Even a newspaper ad, which I only do for open houses - RED TAG SALE  - or how about GARAGE SALE !  INCLUDES 3 BED 2 BATH HOUSE ! PLUS FREE KITTENS !

Virginia, what a great and funny story!  It sounds like something that I would do!  I have a bunch of real estate shoes, same style and different colors.  I realized I went on a listing appointment at a very fancy house with one black shoe and one navy one!
