Mesquite Nv Chamber of Commerce - Have you made any friends from your local chamber -

I joined the Mesquite Nv Chamber of Commerce in December '07.  They have a section on relocation to Mesquite, Nv where consumers can sign up for a welcome package or ask for information about Mesquite.  That request is then forwarded to real estate and other companies who are members. 

The chamber sends a welcome package with general information.  I then email and call them with more detailed info about the real estate market.  I have had very good response from the people I contacted.  Some are long term, they may want to retire in 1-2 years, and some are planning a trip here soon.  I met with one couple last week, they were delightful people, plan on buying in June.  Some folks just have a question about the area.

The Mesquite NV Chamber of Commerce is friendly and jam-packed with information about our area.  What a wonderful way to meet newcomers to your area and share information about your city.  If you haven't checked with your chamber to see what benefits there are for you and your clients, do it now!

Congrats on a Chamber that works on relocation services! I haven't check out my local Chamber but I will ask for that.

Sounds like you have a good Chamber up there.  I am a member of mine, and I have gotten leads from them.

We've received a few leads but not nearly as many as you're getting. That's great - keep that lead source!

Kevin & Monica - I love it - I have separate folders for them as they come in.  I also get to meet a lot of really nice people who will move here someday.  If their needs are not in my area of expertise, I give them a name and contact of someone who can help them.

Hi Virginia, yes I belong to KCC (Katy Chamber of Commerce), and I pay $1 to put a piece in each relo package they send out...have not received any business from it, in over 2 years.  By the way a suggestion, why did you just put this to members only?  Unless it's a off color joke, etc. always check Localisms, and then city, state, and area (if area is applicable).  You want all your blogs to hopefully end up on the Internet for exposure.  Check out several of the SEO sights on AR for some great tips on tags, etc. to use too.  Always put your market area, name, web site, etc. in the body of your blog too.  Liz  This has nothing to do with anything, I've just been dieing to use this picture!

Brittany - I actually have received 100's of contacts, but 50 is about how many I have contacted.  I enjoy welcoming them to Mesquite, even if they are not buyers, and tell them to call me with any question.  I have met some really nice people.

Virginia - The Chamber of Commerce of almost any city is one of the first contacts people make when either relocating or just visiting.  It's a great source of information and directing the public to your web site.

The Chamber in Fannin and Gilmer County is so very cooperative for all real estate agents.

Virginia, thank you for the reminder of the Chambers being a great networking event. I need to find the time to join. One Realtor office branch manager I know is very active in this area. We have so many suburbs in our area, I probably should join multiple ones. I'm glad it is working for you in Mesquite.
