Sun City Mesquite 55 + Community has the best bocce ball court in Mesquite - one of the many activities offered to residents at their Pioneer Recreation Center. You can bring your own bocce balls or use one of the sets that the Rec Center provides for residents. I thought that Bocce was a game, but is considered a sport by those who play it. :)
According to BocceBallRules.net - "Bocce is without a doubt one of the most exciting and enjoyable sports." I have not played it yet, myself, but I am certainly looking forward to my first game. I don't think I will need a lesson, just some practice if I want to win - like all sports, right? I have watched some play and it really does look like fun.
"No matter your level of competition, the rules of bocce are relatively basic, and allow you to start playing and enjoying this wonderful game within minutes."
I do know that you have to keep the ball within the cement borders - This might be difficult for me - I never could color within the lines.
So ... I am not going to tell you how to play bocce - but when I do play it, I will make an exciting video for you all to enjoy.

I have never played bocce ball either, and I have never seen it played. But I have heard plenty about it. Let us know how you like it when you become a world champion.
Hi Jane! Don't hold your breath.
I think I've seen something similar to bocce ball played on the beaches of San Diego? It looks like a lot of fun, but I don't quite undertand it;)
It looks interesting, and the greens look really nice. I won't try it for fear of boccing it. :)
Erika - they play bocce ball in parks, too - I watched some folks play in a St George Park a couple of months ago, the park with the windmill. Basically, you just try to throw your ball the closest to the point ball.
Yolanda - I had to read your comment out loud to get it. You are funny. Why didn't I say that? LOL
I have never heard of it, but reading the rules it certainly looks like something the whole family could do. Can't wait to see your video of your first attempt at the game.
