Pet Friendly Hafen Trailside Park in Mesquite NV is known locally as the Dog Park and it has a fishing pond, too. On Nov 23, the Nevada Dept of Wildlife is scheduled to deliver 150 lbs of rainbow trout to Hafen Pond - local residents enjoy fishing in this park, but those trout won't last long!
Mesquite has several pet friendly parks - dogs have to be on a leash and you must pick up after them. Yes, that means poop patrol - plastic bags are provided. :)

November is a great time of year in Mesquite - the weather is warm enough in the afternoon to spend time at Hafen Trailside Park in Mesquite NV - bring a sweater, it gets cool if the wind picks up.

That is cool that they restock the pond, I bet the kids love that.

Virginia,
I thhink this is a perfect postcard. Your photo has all t he qualities of a perfect photo card. As long as it is a hi res. Gorgeous photo
BTW, do you, guys, have alligators in those lakes and ponds?
Todd - the kids love it - the adults do, too. It will be pretty busy around that park for awhile.
Jon - that pic is not hi res, do you send postcards? I just got a new camera today, it takes panorama shots, can't wait to try it. And no alligators in Mesquite - can you send me one? What a great blog post that would be!
Sounds like a fun place. Dogs and fish. Love watching both.
Hi Jane, Hafen Park is pet friendly, including fish. Although people do eat the fish. :)
What a nice place to spend a fall afternoon, I bet the weather is just about perfect this time of year! Looks very serene.....
Erika - it has been a bit cold this last week - usually winter weather here just requires a hoodie - I still go to at least one of Mesquite's pet friendly parks to walk my dog - he is even wearing a jacket lately!
Oh, I think I see a black dog there that doesn’t look like it’s on a leash. Someone’s being naughty. Obviously they are not thinking ahead to Christmas and Santa Claus. J
You are the only one who noticed Mikey running along the lake! He was only loose for a minute, I got the shot and chased him down.
As far as Santa Claus ... I already bought my own presents and put them in my husband's closet so that he can wrap them and surprise me on Christmas morning. I started doing that years ago - now I can be naughty instead of nice. :)
Hello Virginia, the park looks like a lovely place to relax!
Hi Donna, Mesquite has quite a few pet friendly parks - Hafen Park is my dogs favorite park - he runs all over the place looking for his friends. Not exactly relaxing for me, but I guess I could leave him home! :)
The boyz would definitely love this one. If we ever take them up to Zion again I may need your assistance in letting me know where this is so they can run in the middle of the drive :)
Renee - I guess a map of Hafen Park on this post would be a good idea. :) My dog loved Zion, he thought it was happy hour on squirrels that day.
