Mesquite Nevada Sports Complex - Desert Falls Sports Resorts

Desert Falls International Sports Resorts are taking steps build a 920 acre $500 million sports complex in Mesquite Nevada - Paul Morris of Desert Falls called it “the premier location for amateur sports in the United States.”  The Mesquite sports complex may also draw in professional athletes for off-season training.

The impact of the new Mesquite sports complex will be huge for Mesquite Nevada’s local economy.  National athletic events will draw in massive amounts of people - filling up every hotel room in Mesquite and in nearby St. George Utah.  We will even bring business to Las Vegas - 75 miles from Mesquite.

Besides the boost to tourism and local housing, Paul Morris of Desert Falls International Sports Resorts has expressed the need to hire locally as much as possible to eventually fill up to 500 full time positions at the sports complex and creating a wealth of job opportunities for Mesquite NV residents.

Adidas athletic company has already committed to the project.  When fully completed, a weekend event could draw as many as 10,000 participants and spectators to Mesquite at one time - and our current population is about 20,000.  We all better get our guest rooms ready!

Desert Falls sports complex in Mesquite NV will include:

  • Restaurants
  • Training facilities
  • Two Olympic-size pools and diving platforms
  • Six basketball/volleyball courts
  • Racquetball courts
  • Indoor Track
  • Therapy center (message, saunas, spas)
  • Sports medicine facility
  • Nutrition center
  • 12 sand beach volleyball courts
  • 15,000-seat softball stadium
  • Softball complex with four diamonds - concession stands - rest rooms - scoring boxes and boards - announcer’s booth and daycare facilities
  • 24-field soccer complex and a 400- to 500-seat soccer stadium, plus a park area with pavilions
  • 16-court tennis complex plus a 300- to 400-seat tennis stadium and a pickle ball court
  • Golf course with 495 residential units (condos, town homes and single-family homes)
  • 3,000- to 5,000-seat outdoor football stadium with separate track and field area
  • Archery range that would house archery, bow hunting, and a beginner range
  • Indoor football/soccer stadium with 5,000 to 10,000 seats
  • Attached to the stadium would be a water park with a “lazy river.”
  • Open-air street mall with food court - sports brands and exclusive shops - moving sidewalk and mixed-use buildings (commercial and retail) with housing
  • Resort hotel and athlete village

Desert Falls International Sports Resorts plans to begin holding tournaments at the sports complex in Mesquite, NV by 2010.  They’re working closely with Mesquite officials to get it moving as quickly as possible with final completion of the whole project by 2014.

Come on, Desert Falls - Build it and they will come!

Imagine national sports events, baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball and senior sports events being held at the Mesquite sports center - it will draw people from all over who have never before heard of Mesquite NV!

With all that, you think they were trying to attract the Olympics, is that what they are trying to do? Have to wonder, because that complex sounds huge!

Todd - with Adidas bringing in their staff and sports clinics, etc, it will be huge, there will be another Mesquite exit from the freeway for the traffic.  I can imagine people moving here when their kids are in junior high sports, just to get them 'discovered'.  :)

That is a very exciting concept---senior sports events! I'm ready for some fun again! And "lazy river" is one of the very few rides I actually love! (Do you have a guest room? :-)

Mara - Yes, it is a very cool concept - but you won't see me out there playing volleyball in the sun - I am a wimp!  This sports complex is going to be amazing.

I do have a guest room - shall I book it for you for the grand opening of Desert Falls?
